A notary public has the power to authorize affirmation, take affidavits, judge and verify papers and documentation and attest them upon different papers or documents or deeds or deals where you need the clarification of your papers and need to attest your own signature so that no one can con you by copying your signature. You must remember one thing that you don't have the authority to make some black paper into whites by notarizing them or in other words a notary public doesn't have the power to legalize any paper. If you do something wrong knowingly such as if you con someone else's signature or take any wrong oath or affirmation or make some false papers or show the wrong ID paper or go to notarize illegal deeds or documents you will be punished as per the notary laws. So be prepared with your real ID in order to show that before your selected notary public in order to verify and attest your own real signature so that you cannot be conned and you cannot con anyone. It is the responsibility of the notary public to make the papers with the information that where, when and before whom you are taking the oaths if you have some papers to notarize. This paper is the document that you have taken your oath before a notary and he is the witness of your deeds or deals. The notary should also include the date of the notary commission's expiration and the location of the office just underneath his signature and by doing this he will be the eye witness of your deeds and deals and you are safe from being cheated. The notary will use his seal in that case and you will be done with your papers.
If you are a Notary Can You Notarize Your Paper?
That's a very interesting query but well, the answer is no. if you are a notary yourself even then you cannot notarize your own papers. One notary can use his own seal for notarizing others papers, documents, deals, deeds etc. there is no such notary laws like you can authorize other person to use your seal and notarize your papers. No one can notarize others papers by using your seal as well. It cannot be authorized or transferred to others.
